Welcome to this questionnaire
A previous survey at the EUSEM congress in 2018 and among the EUSEM, REPEM and the EuSEN members showed that only 25.6% (34/133) of the emergency departments (EDs) in Europe conform to most of the NICE guideline recommendations on child abuse & neglect. The respondents were motivated to improve detection of child maltreatment in their department.
Before implementing a toolkit consisting of a screening checklist, training and a strategy for adequate hospital policy at EDs in Europe, a study of the barriers and facilitators for the implementation of this toolkit needs to be performed. Therefore we developed a follow-up questionnaire, consisting of two parts. Part I consists of a few general questions and several short statements on facilitators and barriers for implementation of the toolkit. Part II consists of some additional questions on recognition of child maltreatment at your hospital and some open questions.
We kindly ask your cooperation to participate in this important study and to fill out this questionnaire. Completing the questionnaire will take about 15 minutes. Please answer all of the questions. Can you please return your response within 2 weeks?
Thank you in advance for your time and effort!
